Treatment (styling)
Whilst online video is becoming the "must have" promotional medium it's now competing with its own success, viewer attention and memory retention.

Video Interactive (promotions), has never believed it's enough just to have pretty moving pictures set over snazzy music. It needs a structured composition with well defined content. It should have a creative and memorable style. With the increased popularity of video it should deliver individuality to differentiate yours from those of others.

When we produced Herefordshire & Worcestershire's Business Expo feature we decided upon a treatment that replicated a short, pacey, news feature with a reporter on the hoof. However, behind the scene, it was anything but "on the hoof". Everything was carefully planned in advance then executed on the day.

We first set about creating a storyline identifying key points to cover: The networking breakfast, official opening, seminars, information about the Chamber, the exhibition stands and some sound bites.

Filming permissions
We obtained all the required filming permissions from those such as Oakland International and Hewett Recruitment, as we had planned to film whilst their chief executives were speaking in the backgrounds, the event organiser, venue owner and asked the Chamber of Commerce to publish a public filming notice. Radio frequencies were also checked with PSG, the event services provider handling the public address system.

Script, rehearsals and third party content
A precise script was written for Michelle Scott, our reporter, to learn. This was rehearsed on location including delivery timings, the trackings to follow and the distances to travel.

If used for any marketing activity, The Advertising Standards Authority CAP code, does not allow clients or us to influence what interviewees might say, nor offer any form of inducement. They can, however, be pre-selected and their comments vetted.

Finally the entire project was filmed using a Steadycam stabiliser rig and harness to create that "on the move" feel, by producing sequences without the use of cutaways. The final sequence was a continuous, uninterrupted 2-minute shot.

Broadcast distribution
The final video was uploaded within 24 hours to be seen on both videointeractiveCoUk and hwchambercommerce YouTube Channels. It will also be used to promote next year's event through the H & W Chamber of Commerce website, social media platforms such as Facebook, Linked In and Twitter

Why professionally film your event?
Filming occasions such as exhibitions and corporate events provides ongoing PR after the event, an opportunity for the organiser to show the calibre of their work and to use it to promote future similar events. It can also be used to extend PR for sponsors.

All marketing media reflects upon the professionalism of your organisation. A good Corporate Video Production Company will ensure your video has a precise marketing direction. The professional production reinforces your commitment to meeting professional standards.
