With so many companies now embracing video to promote their organisations, products or services, the question is how to create a corporate video that will communicate effectively and have an impact?

Every organisation has its own expert field of operation whether it's in manufacturing, private or public service sectors or whatever, so it's not surprising that they can't be expert filmmakers too.

Is this inexperience why so many find it difficult to get their video to deliver results? Could this be because they or their chosen videographer/guy with a camera had a limited range of skills or ideas?

You'll probably find it hard to recall one in any detail, if at all, but try to think about those videos where you were shown a mixture of unconnected images of someone else's business, a talking head spouting off about their own business, or carefully contrived testimonials that simply endorse how any good supplier should perform. Did any of them truly inspire you? Would they have made you think to yourself, "Eh, that's the one for me!" Probably not. So if you produced exactly the same for your business, why should you think yours would be judged differently?

Now think about the stories you've been told or read. You probably remember stories from many years ago. That's because it's human nature to connect with stories of all types. Even our ancestors knew the power of stories. That's how they passed down knowledge. The popular medium might have changed but the technique hasn't.

A corporate video has to engage with and inspire your target audience. That's easier said than done. It has to be effective, it has to achieve its objective and above all, it has to deliver a return on your investment.

Most sales people know that when they are able to share a story (let's credit them with it being a true story) it can be a great way to prove how their services or products can provide the solutions that their prospective clients need. A corporate video is just the same. It has to engage with and inspire your target audience. By doing so you greatly increase the chance of achieving your objectives thereby delivering that return on your investment.
Never underestimate the power of a good story

There is always a story somewhere and the best way to tell that story in an effective and memorable way by video for business, is to engage a professional corporate video Production Company.

As a pre-requisite, all video producers, even wedding videographers, should have the camera and editing skills to make your video look nice, but a Production Company that specialises in corporate promotions and adverts will bring important skills that others don't. It will have ideas and understand how those ideas fit into your marketing mix. It will allocate a substantial proportion of planning time to the consultation and pre-production processes, helping you find that story and the best way to tell it making sure it connects with those you are communicating with - your target market.

If you have ever doubted the power of a storyline in a video, this example might help you think again.

Okay, it's not exactly what you might choose for your own "corporate story" and it might be stretching the imagination by more than just a bit, but we choose it to prove the power of a great story, and well..., because we thought it might provide a chuckle somewhere. Enjoy.
